Wakawaka light

WakaWaka light is a solar energy LED light that aims to bring light to those people who live off the grid.
‘Waka Waka’ means ‘bright light’ in Swahili language.
The light was funded by popular crowd funding website Kickstarter.
LED Bulbs present in it give lighting for sixteen hours per day through two powerful bulbs.
It is enough to charge the bulb through solar panel present on one side.
This solar panel has been designed in such a way that they can easily be fitted in to the lid of a water or soda bottle and it can be placed on the top of the terrace.
Also, this solar LED device can be used for charging mobile phones.
==Background ==
The WakaWaka brand came into being in 2012 by the Haarlem-based company, Off-Grid Solutions. Two social entrepreneurs, Maurits Groen and Camille van Gestel began this enterprise after successfully lobbying for a contract to reduce the carbon footprint of the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer championship. The lack of safe and affordable lighting for those living at the Base of the Pyramid in developing countries. Inspired by an idea from Frans Biegstraaten and Rik Ruts from the Dutch high tech solar company, Intivation, an efficient solar lamp went into production less than two years later, the WakaWaka. Their determination led to the creation of compact, affordable and multifunctional solar products for developing as well as developed countries. Together with the support of carbon finance experts Do-Inc, they set off to pave the way for an ambitious project:to light up the world for 1.5 billion people still living in darkness. Together with the support of carbon finance experts, Do-Inc, they catalogue the carbon savings and sell these credits to make WakaWakas even more affordable for those who need them most.
